Day 20 -- Flight to Iguazu

Hard to believe that a one hour flight from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu took up most of the day.  Pickup to go to airport at 8.45 even though flight not till 11.15 am.  Flight delayed a little over 30 minutes.  Baggage collection at Iguazu painfully slow (it's a very small airport, like Maryborough).  Then a 30 minute drive into town through the national park, with hideous traffic bumps every kilometre or so.  Drop offs to 3 other hotels first, and I finally got to Jardin de Iguazu at 3.15 pm.  No lunch.

Is a very nice motel style building around a courtyard with pool.  Walked up hill to small shopping centre near bus station tonight.  Needed find pharmacist, and have something to eat.  The size and look of some of the tour buses is impressive.  Big 2deckers with bed seats do the overnight run to and from Rio and Uruguay.  Had my first decent meal in days and even enjoyed the food.  Did a buffet x kg place.  You serve yourself and they weigh your plate and charge you accordingly, regardless of what you are eating.  I certainly didn't make any 1 kg.

Couple of think backs. Guide yesterday said everyone in BA owns a dog..an exaggeration, but certainly a thriving dog waking trade among Uni students.  Mind you I saw 3 of them with about a dozen pooches between them in the plaza drinking coffee, not much walking!  And they don't pick up after them either.  Have to watch where you walk on the sidewalks.   Another thing..everyone walks in the right, not all over the place like at home.

And most wear their backpacks on their chest like a parachute .. A great vote of confidence in their fellow citizens.

7.30 start in morning to see Argentinian falls, so up early and be at door when brekkky room opens at 7.

No photos today.. Camera stowed in my suitcase.

Hope you are feeling better, Ron. Nothing worse than being sick in a foreign country. Always magnifies it. Take care. Am enjoying your blog.
