Into the Golden West

Saturday:  After a slightly rushed breakfast, we arrived into Perth on time at 9 am.  So it was farewell to the Indian Pacific!  In all a most enjoyable trip, with excellent staff and service – but once in a lifetime for me!  Did meet some interesting people at meals, always being seated with a couple and another single traveller to make up a table.  Struck a know-it-all, loud mouthed Pom from Logan who tried to claim me – had to do some mealtime manoeuvring to avoid him lol..
On arrival in Perth I joined an overview bus tour of the city to fill in time till hotel book-in was available.  It was well worth it, giving a good idea of the city and its various attractions.  The commentary was a bit inane, but it was only 3 hours.  Have now booked into Aarons Hotel in central city;  time to do some washing, go for a wander, have a nice meal, and get ready for the first leg of travels into Margaret River area tomorrow.  (pic is a first view of the Swan River)
